Summary:
Build woodchipper or other implements units taking metal components, nuts, bolts, fasteners, hardware, and components to assemble units per assembly instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
- Follow and listen to directions from assembly lead, quality control inspector, and learn how to assemble units to company standard.
- Assembly manuals will be available soon for reference.
Relay questions to Lead Assembly Tech or Quality Control Inspector for the time being.
- Keep work area and assembly line clear and organized with zero clutter to increase cleanliness of the facility and efficiency, as well as quality of units being produced.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Be a productive consistent assembler following Woodmaxx's employee handbook in regard to break times and lunch periods.
- Be proactive in anticipation of parts coming from the powder coat line.
- If you are working on a unit or station, make immediate supervisor and or general manager aware of low inventory levels as well as filling out req form to make for immediate reconciliation.
- Maintain a positive workplace attitude and know we are all here with the same purpose of working towards the greater good of company growth and prosperity.
The final gate keeper to a good product leaving this facility are our assemblers.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Positively work with all shop leads/employees to maintain a fluid and happy workflow.
- Maintain understanding of parts necessary to complete machines.
Communicate of short/missed parts with ample time to address.
Qualifications:
Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Desired - Vocational training is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work in a factory setting and follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company Policy.
For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Diver Certification through the Company and operate in a safe manner.
Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts to build units complete and to QC standards.
Temperatures may be elevated in the summer months.
Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.
Physical Demands - Finger and arm dexterity skills required with the ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to rotate, kneel, step up, and reach around parts, machinery, and units.
Work Environment - Constant machinery noise, excessive tool noise, heat, and light air borne particles.
- Work 1stor offset shift to maintain production requirements.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Bi-annual performance appraisal.
